Salvador Dali was born in Figueres; therefore, it has established itself as a major tourist destination. Figueres is an excellent alternative for a day excursion because it is only an hour's drive from Tossa de Mar.
The Dal Theatre Museum is, without a doubt, Figueres' most prominent attraction. Dal even created it, and not only does it house the most extensive collection of his most significant works in one place.
