Itinerary
Day 2
Explore Stockholm
After breakfast, enjoy a boat tour around the network of little islands that dot the waterways close to the town. Following a journey around the local waterways, visit the Vasa Museum and Skansen Open Air Museum to see one of the city's most priceless historical artefacts. Go to Sodermalm for dinner.
Stockholm Archipelago boat tour – Go on a boat tour from Stockholm. Escape from the city's noise and bustle during the three-hour boat ride and discover the peace and tranquility of the rocky islands that dot the Baltic Sea.
Vasa Museum- The piece of art. Millions of tourists visit annually, and the Vasa Museum is Scandinavia's most famous museum. The only 17th-century ship maintained to this day, with nearly 95% of its original components, is housed in the Vasa Museum. Here you will find out how the ship was recovered, from its initial discovery to its last repair. Learn about the processes used to build ships in the 1600s, from obtaining the wood to selecting the colour! The museum also has fun, interactive exhibits that you may interact with.
Skansen Open Air Museum- The oldest open-air museum in the world is Skansen, situated on the island of Djurgarden. The museum was established in 1891 to display the way of life in several regions of Sweden before the Industrial Revolution. The site's numerous exhibitions cover over 75 acres, and a scale model of a typical Swedish town from the 19th century is present. Skansen also houses the only open-air museum with wild animals worldwide if you're wondering what to do in Stockholm with kids. You'll see everything, including domestic pets and exotic animals from the Nordic region.
There are many different types of flora and gardens throughout the park. Even a little area of land is being exploited to cultivate the tobacco used in cigarettes.
Day 3
Travel to Oslo
Having breakfast in Oslo is an excellent way to start the day. Visit the Viking Ship Museum first, then travel to the Bygdy Peninsula, take in the breathtaking Vigeland Park, and meander through the vibrant homes.
The Viking Ship Museum - This museum is situated on a peninsula west of Oslo's city centre. Throughout the day, a short action movie about the Vikings is projected onto the museum's ceiling, recounting their daring and bloody exploits.
The Bygdy Peninsula- It is the ideal place to spend your morning. Visit the Fram Museum to learn about Arctic and Antarctic exploration, then head next door to the Kon-Tiki Museum to learn about a daring kayaking expedition that crossed the Pacific Ocean.
The Norwegian Museum of Cultural History is easily accessible by foot. One hundred sixty restored Norwegian buildings from the middle through the 1950s are on show in this outdoor museum! It's a fascinating and entertaining approach to studying Norwegian history and culture.
Vigeland Park- It is one of Oslo's strangest sights but very interesting. Gustav Vigeland, a Norwegian sculptor, created over 200 sculptures on display in the Vigeland Sculpture Park. These sculptures, which draw over 1 million visitors annually and range from the thought-provoking to the downright bizarre, are a significant tourist draw.
Damstredet & Telthusbakken: Strolling through colourful houses, you can witness stunning cabins made of coloured wood. You can live in a red cabin on the brink of a fjord if you visit Damstredet and Telthusbakken. While passing through Telthusbakken, take photos of the houses.
Day 4
Explore Oslo
Eat breakfast at Fuglen, a hipster haven and coffee shop. Visit the national gallery in Oslo, explore Akershus Fortress, and watch the sunset at the opera house in Oslo.
Oslo National Gallery: The Oslo National Gallery houses the most well-known of the four renderings of The Scream and other exquisite works of art by the same artist. You'll have to out-take crowds of Japanese people to get a photo of him, but it's worthwhile.
Akershus Fortress: It is a castle constructed in 1300 and has served as a military outpost, administrative centre, jail, and royal home. The Fortress is now accessible to tourists. The Fortress has magnificent vistas, and the setting sun bathes everything in a beautiful golden light. You can stroll through the fortress courtyards, make friends with some gulls, and see the view from the walls.
Oslo opera house- A must-see structure during the sunset is the Oslo Opera House. With its glass façade reflecting the water, the Oslo Opera House, built directly on the port, appears to emerge from the water. The building's white roof can be climbed and traversed for a magnificent fjord perspective.
Day 5
End of the trip
Prepare to depart. Bid farewell.
