Scouse
#Food
- Scouse, the most famous of Liverpool's dishes, is so well-known in the region that it has become a moniker for locals and the name of the local accent.
- It's a substantial meat stew cooked with thick-cut veggies and frequently mutton or beef. It is not related to other British casseroles or hot pots; instead, it is based on a Norwegian recipe introduced to Liverpool by travelling fishermen who worked at the port.
- Fresh scouse is served in several taverns in Liverpool, generally with pickled beetroot or cabbage and a slice of bread.
