Castillo-Palacio de los Ribera
- The old Fontanar Castle, which is of Arab origin and only the Torre del Homenaje and a few remaining portions of the old wall survive, contains this one-of-a-kind castle-palace.
- The old castle's ruins are part of a sizable complex with a quadrangular floor plan that also includes a late Gothic palace with Renaissance features that was constructed in the 16th century by the aforementioned Fadrique Enriquez de Ribera and surrounded by a lovely garden.
- The Torre del Homenaje, a highly sturdy tower with a quadrangular floor plan and a massif in its northwest corner, makes up the castle's oldest portion. Its interior appears to be divided into many chambers.
- The southwest corner of the palace with a vast arcaded courtyard on two sides and a Gothic-style parapet or balustrade that has nearly disappeared today.
- Interesting gargoyles can be found on the first floor's arches, and a late Gothic gateway with cardina leaf detailing can be found in the top cloister's gallery.

Centro de Artes de Mijas
- The Centro, founded in 1972 by foreign immigrants to teach art to local children, has grown to be a significant aspect of life in Mijas.
- In addition to offering a variety of art and language lessons, it has developed into a place where people can socialise.
- The Centro de Artes is a non-profit organisation primarily administered by volunteers. It is located in Edificio Algarrobo, a building that looks out over the Plaza Virgen de la Pena community square.

Parque Nacional de Donana
