The Best Places to Visit in Benidorm
Levante Beach
- This is the most famous image of Benidorm: A pale golden sand arc, surrounded by a long line of skyscrapers and dappled by a forest of blue parasols.
- Although the beach can get crowded throughout the summer, you can locate a quiet spot away from the crowds that swarm the waterline, even on the busiest days.
- If all that sea air makes you hungry, there are eateries and North European-style bars at the base of the tall residential buildings.
Poniente Beach
- The beach next to Levante has an entirely different vibe; while there is a similar strip of towers, most of the resort is located to the east.
- Poniente is more laid-back and family-oriented.
- This beach has had a lot of investment in recent years, and it now boasts a network of boardwalks that make it handicap accessible.
- They'll take a left every 30 metres to avoid a hot and exhausting trip down to the sea.
- Poniente's surf is similar to Levante's, although less experienced swimmers should avoid wading too far out because the undercurrents can be reasonably robust.
Terra Mítica
- This attraction is inspired by ancient civilisations and is one of Spain's largest theme parks.
- Rome, Egypt, and Greece are the three zones here, and each is jam-packed with roller coasters, shows, and other attractions.
- The Magnus Colossus, a giant wooden roller coaster with a track more than a kilometre long, is one of the most popular rides.
- It's appropriate for everyone, save the youngest members of the family.
- Like Spartacus' insurrection, choreographed street spectacles are all part of the enjoyment.
- Iberia Park, next door, has water rides and amusements based on Spain's history and is also included in the same ticket.

Benidorm Off the Beaten Track
Balcón del Mediterráneo
- On the headland between Poniente and Levant, Plaça del Castell is a form of stone garden with checkerboard tiles and white fences.
- This was the location of Benidorm's castle, which stood for hundreds of years before being demolished during Napoleon's wars.
- The views on both sides of the square are breathtaking, but nothing compares to the Balcón del Mediterráneo on the peninsula's southern edge.
- Take a seat beneath the lamppost to admire the Mediterranean and the modern skyline of Benidorm.
La Cruz de Benidorm
- Because the resort's reputation hasn't always been the cleanest, a religious mission was organised in 1961 to transport a wooden cross from the town to this craggy spur to atone for the city's sins.
- When the old one was blown away in a storm in 1975, the cross to the west of Benidorm became a tourist attraction and was replaced with a permanent memorial.
- Because the environment is rather exposed, the 45-minute climb to the cross is generally best performed during the warmer seasons.
- Even if you visit during the height of summer, the views of Benidorm make an effort worthwhile.

Gazpacho
#Food
- The reddest, ripest tomatoes are mixed with olive oil, garlic, bread, peppers, and cucumber until smooth, then chilled and served into bowls or glasses. So tasty and refreshing.
- People in Andalusia, in southern Spain, drink it every day during the summer, and tapas bars always have a jug on the counter.
- Try salmorejo, a thicker variant that's commonly topped with Ibérico ham.
Paella
#Food
- Paella gets its name from the cooking pot called "La Paella."
- This is a Valencian word that refers to a round, shallow pan with two handles in which the ingredients are cooked and served directly from the fire.
- Today's dish we all know and love began as a poor man's dinner in Valencia and has since evolved into one of Spain's most popular and cherished dishes, with variations of the recipe found throughout the country.
- Some La Paellas are enormous, and you may have seen them as the centrepiece of massive events.
- Paella was initially a peasant meal prepared over an open fire in the rice fields they laboured.
- The original dish was made from field rice and whatever else they could think of.
- Anything with onions, tomatoes, snails, or green beans for flavour and texture.
- When duck and rabbit were available, they were also popular, and this dish quickly became such a famous convenience supper that chicken and saffron were added on special occasions.
Spanish Tortilla
#Food
- The Spanish tortilla is a well-known Spanish meal popular both in Spain and abroad.
- It's made with potatoes and eggs.
- The addition of onion is a common issue among Spaniards, and they can dispute for hours about it, although there are many additional versions.
- Because other components such as chorizos, red peppers, and various other items can be added, the Spanish tortilla is perhaps the most varied example of Spanish gastronomy.
- It can be eaten as a "ración," "tapa," or "bocadillo" (sandwich) or "pincho."
Paseo de la Carretera
#Fashion
- The most well-known street in Benidorm.
- The earliest pharmacy, the first lottery administration, the first tobacconist. It runs from the city centre to the port and the start of the Poniente beach.
- Clothing stores, galleries connected to the Plaza Mayor, and a wide range of shops, including fur stores, opticians, jewellers, souvenir shops, and leather goods stores.
- Relaxed Meeting, a store with many fashion and brand offers floors, is located near the port.
Alameda
#Fashion
- We'll start our journey to Benidorm Castle at the café La Creu, passing by the iconic palm tree.
- This roadway leads to the slope leading to the Church of Santa Ana and San Jaime's square.
- Clothing stores, footwear stores, boutiques, and terraces with a Gin Tonic or frozen yoghurt are available in Ibiza.
- Small stores selling shoes, clothes, fashion and accessories, home décor, candles, and discounts can be found in the first four.
- This is combined with frozen yoghurt businesses, incredible waffles, artisan ice cream, beer, and pintxos.
Aqualandia
#Fun
- Mundomar is located next to one of Spain's oldest and best water parks, which opened in 1985. It is still expanding, with new rides and attractions added virtually every season.
- Some of them can break records, such as Big Bang, Europe's highest water slide, and the brand-new Vertigo, which sends riders flying to the splash pool at 100 kilometres per hour.
- The water for the slides, pools, and jacuzzis is piped in from the Mediterranean after some desalination.
- The wave pool of Aqualandia is enormous, accommodating thousands of swimmers at once.
- It's one of the best days out in Benidorm for little boys looking for a little more adventure.
Terra Mitica Benidorm
#Fun
- Terra Mitica is Benidorm's biggest tourist attraction and one of Europe's most exciting theme parks. It caters to various age groups and 'fear thresholds.'
- If you're not a fan of the adrenaline rush, don't worry; there are many calmer options, including several fantastic water rides.
- The park has smartly designed 15 junior rides that duplicate the scarier adult versions to ensure that younger children never feel left out.
- Overall, Terra Mitica has plenty to offer everyone.
- You can ride the rides as many times as you want, but there are so many that you won't be able to see them all in one day.

- The Serra Gelada Nature Park protects rare flora, endemic botanical species, and hanging fossil dunes (aeolianites) dating back over a hundred thousand years.
- The island of Benidorm (Isla de Benidorm) is a natural beauty and protected area located amid the bay of Benidorm, in the middle of its two points.

Benidorm Must-Attend Festivals and Events
- The culture vultures among you may have noticed that this day is associated with Pamplona's famed bull run, which Benidorm commemorates in its way.
- You won't have to swerve around any irate livestock as you drive through the Old Town streets, so don't worry.
- On Levante Beach, though, you are likely to witness men dressed in traditional white and red attire partying with local delicacies and beverages.
- Today is a double whammy of a festival since St Jamie is both the patron saint of Benidorm and the day on which the city honours the Spanish military.
- Men and women in military attire march around town, and if there are any naval ships in the port, the crews frequently come ashore to join in the festivities.
- The city also likes to pay respects by firing cannons from the town hall, the most significant, noisiest way possible.
