Best Months to Visit Asturias
- Summer, from June through August or the first half of September, is the best time to visit Asturias because it is the driest and sunniest season of the year.
- July and August are the hottest and driest months of the year.
- Even in the middle of summer, must expect some rain, cool nights on the coast, and cold nights inland.
- In the summer holidays, when the weather is nice, you can go to the beach and sunbathe, with a pleasant air temperature and a calm wind from the ocean, though the sea is too cold for swimming.

The Best Places to Visit in Asturias
Llanes
- Llanes has a long history as a fishing port, which is still extremely busy today.
- The town is charming, with plenty of good and cheap bars, restaurants, and lovely stores.
- The Romanic-Gothic Basilica of the Virgin Mary is the primary attraction.
- Nonetheless, Llanes attracts many (local) tourists, particularly during the summer, because it is near the sea and has some fantastic beaches - which you should not miss.
- Sablon Beach (Playa del Sablon) is located directly in town.
- It is known for Augustin Ibarrola's Los Cubos de Memoria, which was created and painted to break the waves and defend the harbour and has since evolved into a beautiful permanent art piece.
- A point readily approaching from the beach and from whence it is possible to reach Paseo de San Pedro is the most excellent position to enjoy a glimpse of Llanes, Sablon beach, and the beautiful Bay of Biscay with low cost holidays.
- This trail runs to the adjacent beaches; it's great for walking, biking, or even horseback riding, and it's a local favourite, especially on weekends.
- The town of Llanes is reason enough to travel to Asturias with Our Holiday Vibes are Good Vibes Only!
Ribadesella
- Who says Spain's most fantastic beaches are only found in the south? The most beautiful coastline in the country, in my opinion, is in the north: the beaches of Asturias are breathtakingly stunning.
- Aside from Llanes' beaches, don't forget to visit Ribadesella.
- The Sella River, which has its delta right there, gives its name to this lovely tiny town.
- A magnificent overlook with views of Playa de Santa Marina is easily accessible from the waterfront.
- It's well worth the trip up there for the breathtaking views.
Llagar de sidra
- While most of Spain is known for its wine (see, for example, the beautiful, crisp Txakoli of the Basque Country) with last minute holidays, you should not miss out on Asturias' fantastic cider.
- Forget about the sweetened, carbonated beverage you're used to and can buy off the shelf in any store with low cost holidays.
- Cider is a severe business of Asturias, and the historic cider house Sidra Crespo takes it a step further by making its fantastic cider with exclusively local fruit and water.
- In last minute holidays make sure you take the cider house tour; it's a fascinating experience.
- Bottled cider is served stunningly and artistically, with the pourer holding the bottle high and the glass as low as possible to thoroughly oxygenate the drink, which then turns slightly bubbly and must be consumed in one sip.
- It's a pleasant thing to watch and a delicious drink to consume.

- This is undoubtedly the gorgeous tiny beach village in Asturias, Spain, and you must not miss it on holiday to Asturias.
- Cudillero is a charming fishing community with a little harbour and many brightly coloured homes perched on the cliffs above the sea.
- The village is a maze of narrow streets and roads, with almost no cars due to their small size.
- Perfect for a stroll and admiring the magnificent views, and certainly one of the loveliest sites in Asturias, it's also a great place to stop for lunch.
