The Best Places to Visit in Bydgoszcz
Mill Island
- As the name implies, this island near the Old Town was Bydgoszcz's hive of industry during the Middle Ages.
- The few remaining mill buildings date from the 1800s and have been restored and turned into tourist attractions.
- The peaceful loop in the Brda, which has clear water and waterfowl on its banks, is bordered by wide open green spaces.
- On a hot summer day, you can rent a rowboat, stroll through the quaint specialty shops, or enjoy a cold beer outside.
- On the island, there are a few museums, the best of which is a modern art museum housed in a repurposed factory building.
- The massive cylinders of the Opera Nova, which opened in 2006 after nearly two decades of construction, are visible across the water to the north.
Museum of Soap and Dirt
- The Museum of Soap and Dirt, which opened in a tenement house on the north side of Ulica Duga in 2012, is frequently regarded as one of the country's best minor museums.
- Cast-iron bathtubs from the 19th century, utensils for washing and bathing, vintage detergent ads, washing machines, dryers, soaps from all over the world, and a replica of a Medieval bathhouse can all be found inside.
- This is supplemented by well-researched information on how people have cleaned themselves over time, as well as interactive exhibits that you can touch and smell.
- The museum also has a lab where you can make your own soap to take home, choosing your own formula and scents.
Old Market Square
- This plaza, which hosted concerts and public gatherings and was surrounded by outdoor seating for bars and restaurants when King Casimir III the Great founded Bydgoszcz in 1346, is still a pillar of social life.
- Bydgoszcz's German population and Poles were caught up in the combat at the outset of WWII, which proved unpleasant.
- The result was the brutal execution of 50 Polish citizens on the square's north side, commemorated with a monument in 1969.
- The tenement houses surrounding the square are mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries, and there are a few family-run antique and handicraft shops in between the restaurants.

- Bydgoszcz's allure stems from the fact that it still appears to be an undiscovered city in history, architecture, and culture.
- It is also unexplored by both locals and visitors.
- When the latter walks through the streets of Bydgoszcz with cameras in the summer, they teach the locals that it is worthwhile to lift their heads and appreciate the beauty of old, decorative buildings.
- Józef Wicicki, one of the most mysterious and creative architects of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, designed some of the most attractive houses. His buildings, such as the "Hotel pod Orem," are architectural gems in Bydgoszcz.

#Food
- Pierogarnia Stary Myn is an ideal spot for some of Poland's trademark pierogi, thanks to its fabulous island area where the old mill once stood (dumplings).
- The restaurant is a Pierogarnia, which means it only serves pierogi. It's challenging to choose with so many options, so mixing and matching each of the three categories – meat pierogi, vegetarian pierogi, and sweet pierogi – is a good idea.
- The pierogi can also be cooked in two different ways: boiled or fried. Desserts, hot beverages, alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks are also available.
Bobby Burger

- Because Bydgoszcz has fewer burger joints than other Polish cities, the ever-popular Bobby Burger is the most popular.
- It is a great place to enjoy the best burgers in the city, thanks to its extensive menu of gourmet burgers, ideal location in the Old Town square (Stary Rynek), and a cosy venue that serves as a bar.
- Try the 'Double Death by Cheese' or the 'Classic' on the menu. Local beers are also available, and lunchtime specials are frequently available.

Myślęcinek Amusement Park and Ropes Park

Bydgoszcz Must-Attend Festivals and Events
- Major Polish universities conduct Juwenalia, a massive student party, every year in the middle of May.
- This is true in Bydgoszcz as well. The city's most prominent universities, UKW, UTP, WSG, and the Medical Faculty of UMK, host events, concerts, and parties; occasionally, they band together to throw even more lavish bashes.
- Everything is arranged by students who run the city at this time (the Mayor of Bydgoszcz gave them "the keys to the city").
- During these days, boaters and sailors from all over the country (and the world) flock to Bydgoszcz.
- Everything in Bydgoszcz revolves around its river!
- Brda is extremely congested at this time of year, literally bursting at the seams with tiny and huge boats: it's a sight to behold. Mill Island and Rybi Rynek, located near the Granaries, are the primary locations for the festival.
- Every year, concerts are held, providing a rare opportunity to hear and perform old sea shanty melodies that sailors used to sing while working.
- Aside from that, there will be pop or rock music performers playing.
- Every November, one of Poland's most prestigious film festivals in Bydgoszcz.
- It's the world's largest film festival dedicated just to cinematographers and their work.
- That is why Bydgoszcz attracts world-famous and influential people.
- If you are interested in cinematography or work in the film industry, this festival, which is already well-known, is a must-attend.
- Hundreds of notable filmmakers have attended the festival, including David Lynch, Keanu Reeves, Darren Aronofsky, Bryan Adams, and Alan Rickman, to mention a few.
