Risotto with Tastasal

#Food

  • This risotto is constructed with minced, salted, and peppered pork and is a typical dish of Verona and Veneto cuisine.
  • In Venetian dialect, the word "tastasal" means "to taste the salt," This method was created to ensure that the meat used in the sausages and salami was correctly salted.
  • There are various varieties, all of which are equally excellent, in Veronese cooks.

Boiled meat with pearà

#Food

  • One of Verona's traditional dishes, enjoyed by city families on cold winter days, especially at Christmas.
  • It consists of boiling meat and veggies with mashed breadcrumbs "seasoned" with plenty of pepper. This recipe can be made in various ways, but the essential ingredients remain the same.

Pastissada de Caval

#Food

  • This meal, often known as the "braised horse," has a long history. The conflict between the King of the Ostrogoths Theodoric and the King of Italy Odoacre is claimed to have shaken the Veronese realm in the fifth century after Christ.
  • After Theodoric's victory, many horses remained on the ground, and the hungry people were allowed to feast on them.
  • To extend the life of the meat, it was chopped and macerated in red wine with spices and vegetables.

  • The range of things, on the other hand, is incredible. There are excellent leather goods, low-cost footwear, and souvenirs that can be found there.
  • Cosmetics and jewellery stores will satisfy the ladies. Since its inception, the shopping mall has been a permanent location for exhibitions and other entertainment events.

Gardaland

#Fun

  • nine shows. It boasts the most rides of any of the parks.
  • Gardaland's numerous rides will appeal to teenagers. Those are not suitable for pregnant women, people with back difficulties, heart problems, or high blood pressure. You know who you are talking about.
  • With its three themed rides, Peppa Pig Land will delight small children. Children can go to Peppa's house and snap photos with Peppa and George.
  • Gardaland also features many specifically suited rides for younger children and has no height requirements. Bring bathing suits if the weather is warm. There are some nice fountains/play areas and a water castle with numerous slides for small children.
  • The children aged eight to eleven had the most difficulty at Gardaland. Many of the rides are too small, yet they are too old for Peppa Pig Land and other little ones.
destination - Seasons to travel

Movieland

#Fun

  • Without the support of a major studio, Movieland is a standard movie-themed amusement park. It may not have as many rides as Gardaland, but it is also not nearly as crowded.
  • We chose to go to Movieland this year after learning that they have a new dinosaur ride called Pangea. Miss M was enthralled by the dinosaurs and the narration accompanying the ride.
  • Peter and I were surprised to learn that one of the guests had to drive the car for the excursion. It took a while for our driver to establish his speed.

  • Keep an eye out for animals with the right of way and take the path of least resistance.
  • Then there's a trip to a more traditional geo-zoo. We had some fantastic sightings this year, despite the heat. Close encounters with a leopard, a kea, a rhinoceros, and a cranky vulture.

  • Several activities, shows, and special guided tours are planned during Valentine's Day week to make your weekend in Verona memorable.
  • Large hearts of all sizes and shapes adorn squares, roadways, and storefront windows. Couples get discounts and special offers at museums and restaurants.
  • Valentine's Day is a significant event in Verona that engages everyone and involves the entire city, contributing to the ideal atmosphere for the many couples who come to visit the city of Romeo and Juliet and love.
  • Verona's Carnival is one of the oldest in Italy, dating back to 1531. Poor people, particularly in the old St Zeno's church district, one of the largest and most populated in town, suffered famine due to food scarcity that year.
  • Tommaso Da Vico, a wealthy nobleman, chose to donate a large quantity of money to help impoverished people buy flour to create gnocchi, little dumplings that were the poor people's primary source of nutrition at the time.
  • Da Vico stipulated in his will that gnocchi and wine be distributed to residents of the area surrounding St Zeno's church every year on the Carnival final Friday.
  • The origins of the Veronese Carnival can be traced back to this time.
  • Nowadays, on Venerdi' gnocolar', gnocchi's Friday, a large parade passes through the streets of Verona, finishing in front of St. Zeno church.
  • The march is led by Papa' de' gnocco, or "gnocchi's father," a mask depicting an elderly king with a massive fork topped by large gnocchi instead of a wand.
  • A month before the Carnival, the man who wears the costume is publicly elected in St. Zeno square.
  • Candidates are attempting to purchase votes by offering complimentary gnocchi and wine!
