The Best Places to Visit in Dinard
Dinard Pointe du Moulinet
- The Pointe du Moulinet is a beautiful place to visit, with several majestic villas, lovely views of Dinard, and a lovely coast path with views over the sea to Saint-Malo among its attractions.
- You can begin your exploration of the Pointe du Moulinet at the east end of Dinard's principal beach, the Plage de l'Ecluse.
- There is a large open-air pool here, which is a great way to start or end your walk!
- The point here contains fewer homes than the Pointe de la Malouine at the other end of the beach, but they are more extensive and sometimes more challenging to view.
- From the pool to the pleasure port, a walkway circles the Pointe du Moulinet; the entire loop takes around 45 minutes to complete.
- The first half of the trek offers views of Dinard's centre, the Pointe du Moulinet, and its villas.
- The second half features views across the Rance estuary to Saint-Malo, a lovely town just a few kilometres from Dinard.
- Dinard's port is a relatively new development created in the early twentieth century.
- It is relatively small and only used by small boats, which adds to the picturesque vista over the water.
- To get to the port at Dinard, follow the coast south of the Pointe du Moulinet along the Promenade du Clair de Lune.
Emerald coast
- The northern Brittany beachfront between Cap Frehel in the west and almost to Mont-Saint-Michel in the east is referred to as the "Emerald Shoreline."
- The shore is divided into two departments in Brittany: Ille-et-Vilaine and Cotes d'Armor.
- The name of the coast is derived from the colour of the sea in the region under particular conditions, which was inspired by the success of the name "Cote d'Azur" in promoting tourism in Mediterranean France.
- The Emerald Coast has some of France's most spectacular coastline, with rocky headlands protruding into the sea and backed by gorse and heather, countless little beaches and villages, and several noteworthy historical cities.
- Begin your investigation of the beautiful highlights by visiting the Cap Fréhel headland, one of the region's most outstanding scenic features with its cliffs and Emerald Coast setting, or the Pointe du Grouin headland north of Cancale.
Mont-Saint-Michel
- Mont-Saint-Michel is one of France's most popular tourist sites and an important pilgrimage site with over two million tourists each year. An interesting fact: only one in every three of these guests makes it to the Abbey on top of the Mount!
- It is hardly worth visiting Mont-Saint-Michel unless you intend to enter the Abbey. The Abbey is magnificent; it is significant, and some of the rooms, such as the 'Great pillared crypt,' are breathtaking.
- The Abbey, primarily Gothic architecture, is referred to as 'La Merveille' or 'the Marvel.'
- Some buildings surrounding Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey are reserved for the Monastic Brotherhood of Jerusalem, who ensure that prayers are performed continuously in the Abbey.
- After seeing the Abbey, tourists can enjoy panoramic views of the bay.

Saint-Suliac
- Saint-Suliac is a picturesque village with a mediaeval centre, a riverbank promenade, and an antique church among its features. A visit is highly advised when seeing this region of Brittany.
- The magnificent granite villas on the water's edge and throughout the village are charming. Many houses, ranging from the 15th to the 18th century, have painted shutters, a small but charming garden, and often some sea-related ornaments like ropes, nets, little boats, and nautical colours.
- Small boats on the water add to the gorgeous scenery. Saint-center Suliac's is very modest, with various lanes to explore. Along with the buildings and gardens, there is a 19th-century well and a statue of the Virgin on a high mound if you follow the Rue des Besnières, the avenue where linen sails were created.
- Throughout Saint-Suliac, you will discover statues on the house walls. Many of these are 19th-century Virgin statues added to protect the peasants from diseases like cholera, while others are sculptures from a historic monastery nearby.
- In the centre of Saint-Suliac, there is an attractive 13th-century church that is pretty dark but comfortable inside and one of the oldest churches in Brittany - it was built to replace an 11th-century church, of which only one door currently exists.
- It is encircled by a walled churchyard (or enclos paroissial), which was once common for Brittany churches but is now reasonably unusual.
- The churchyard is approached through old stone doors known as triumphal arches that have been there since the 13th century: they are similar and are assumed to have been the entrances of an ossuary.
Dinan
- Dinan, a highlight of a trip to Brittany, is a beautiful walled town perched on a slope overlooking the river Rance.
- It is among our favourite Brittany towns and should not be disregarded.
- When you arrive in Dinan, go to the tourist office (at 6 Rue du Chateau), where you can get brochures with colour-coded walks to guarantee you see everything the town offers.
- Additionally, you can tour the stunning townhouse from the 16th century, where the tourist office is now located!
- The town's ramparts are primarily intact and stretch for about three kilometres.
- They were created in the 13th century when the Dukes of Brittany decided that Dinan needed to be a significant market town. They still have ten original towers and four ancient doorways.
- A great place to start your trek to Dinan is at these ramparts. Even though there is only a tiny area where you can walk on them, you can frequently follow alongside them and take in the scenery, for instance, at the Promenade des Grand Fosses or the Promenade de la Duchesse Anne.
- Dinan Chateau, one of the most majestic landmarks in town, is also part of the fortifications surrounding the town; it is located south of Dinan centre, near the tourist office.
- The 1384-built "donjon" (also known as "keep" or "dungeon") of the castle houses the town museum's kitchens and other rooms. Visit the Dinan Chateau for further details.
- You can now go into Dinan's enormous historical centre, which radiates out from Place des Merciers and Place Saint Sauveur, along Rue du Jerzual.
- This is a lovely neighbourhood to stroll through, stopping for the occasional traditional crepe (pancake).

NATURE & SAFARI
Dinard: Natural Beauty & Safari Adventures
- It was formed by a tiny British colony of former Indian or Egyptian army officers who came to Dinard to reside.
- This course is neither long nor difficult. As a result, it may appear simple, but the final score tells the whole tale.
- Because, while not difficult, it is complex: sandy ground, undulating fairways, short, raised, and speedy greens, numerous bunkers, few trees, but plenty of broom and gorse. Dinard is also quite windy!
- When riding a bicycle, the wind is almost always at your face or sideways, making it considerably more difficult.
- It can also be very forceful, so keep your ball low and have multiple spares in your bag. However, the wind has other benefits: it moderates hot temperatures, softens harsh winters, and sends rain-laden clouds inland.
- This legendary location is a protected area where many rare animals and flora have been identified. A biotope decree preserves them and designates the area as a wildlife reserve.
- The rest of the course is rich in history. It invites fans of the location, including many champions. There are federal tournaments and ranking cups held there.
- Le Nessay has partnered with the Dinard Golf de Saint-Briac to make this superb course more accessible.
