The Best Places to Visit in Pula
Pula Cathedral
- Pula Cathedral (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral) is a co-cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pula and Pore.
- The cathedral rose to prominence in the 1600s after five tombs holding the bones of early Christian saints were discovered under the main altar.
- It's also stated that the remains of Solomon, King of Hungary, were among them.
- Can find a bell tower built in 1707 using stones from Pula Arena just outside the church.
- The building has a sequence of mosaics from the 5th and 6th centuries if you enjoy historical art.
- During your holiday, you may attend Sunday masses here for free.
Pula Arena
- Pula Arena is the only Roman amphitheatre with a fully intact circular wall dating from 27 BC to 68 AD.
- It is also the world's sixth most enormous amphitheatre.
- The arena used to stage gladiator combat, with 20,000 people watching the survival of the fittest.
- Pula Arena now accommodates contemporary events like concerts, games, and outdoor movies.

Medieval Rovinj
- Rovinj, a lovely ancient town established by the Romans on a spit of land extending into the Adriatic, is home to many excellent things to do.
- You'll find the old Town Hall and Balbi's Arch in the centre square, which opens to the harbour and houses several beautiful restaurants and cafés (Trg Marsala Tita).
- The 18th-century Baroque Cathedral of Saint. With its conspicuous bell tower at the highest point in town, Euphemia should not be missed (Katedrala Sveta Eufemija).
- The Baroque Arch, built in the late 17th century, is known for superb artwork, the carved head on the exterior wall and a carved head of a Venetian on the inside wall.
- Balbi's Arch marks the entrance to the old Venetian neighbourhood, a charming region with tiny piazzas and steep back lanes and a blend of architectural styles including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Neoclassical influences.
- You may also see Rovinji's medieval old town on a guided walking tour.
Rabac
- For some beach time, visit Rabac, which was initially a modest fishing village on Kvarner Bay but has recently blossomed into a famous resort town noted for its pebble beaches and clear, blue water.
- Girandella Beach is one of the best beaches in the area because of the breathtaking purity of the sea beyond it.
- Because the fish are numerous, it is an excellent spot to swim, snorkel, or dive.

- Pula Aquarium, located amid the echoing halls, corridors, and even the moat of the Habsburg-built stronghold in Verudela, has made it its goal to rescue the endangered sea turtle.
- Adult female green turtles are believed to number in the hundreds in the Mediterranean seas.
- In addition to its traditional responsibility of showing Adriatic, European, and tropical marine and freshwater sea life to the public, the museum has established a rescue centre and organises instructional programs.

- The aquarium is housed in Fort Verudela, a historic fort erected in 1886 as part of the once-mighty Austro-Hungarian defence complex 'Fortress Pula,' where Pula's centennial military heritage is uniquely united with the richness of the Adriatic.
- Fort Verudela, named for the peninsula on which it was erected (3 kilometres from the centre of Pula), has been converted into an aquarium since 2002 and today houses over 200 animal species.
- Sharks, jellyfish, and seahorses are the most sought-after residents, with the Marine turtle rescue centre, which makes the most significant contribution to marine conservation, as a must-see.
- The fort's roof, in addition to providing a spectacular view of Pula and the sea, also houses a gigantic steel dome built over the ancient cannon block in 2017.
- The crown marks the culmination of our project, in which we rebuilt the fort's core section and added three additional tanks (50 000 litres each), considerably enlarging our show.
