The Best Places to Visit in St Anton
Arl. rock sports centre
- St. Anton's sports park, The Arl. rock, is the remedy for any inclement weather day.
- This location has an indoor climbing wall that is open all winter long.
- If you have climbing experience, you may either buy the necessary gear and go solo, or you can hire a guide to show you the ropes.
- You can also practise free climbing on a bouldering wall, which is a low climbing wall with lots of padding mats below, so you don't need ropes.
- In the unlikely event, you fall, you will land on the plush mats below.
- Alternatively, if you're not a lover of climbing, you may try out the bowling alleys, tennis courts, and squash courts.
- For drinks, nibbles, watching football, and even a cheeky game of nails—the Austrian game of hammering a nail into a piece of wood—the bowling alley also boasts a small sports bar on the premises.
Verwall Lake
- Verwall Lake, which may be seen in this summertime photo to the southwest of the town, is nearby.
- A tranquil location and a crowning achievement of nature are the Verwallsee.
- This is a wonderfully striking reservoir nestled in a gorgeous natural location.
- A campfire pit, a children's playground, and comfortable seats all encourage you to stay a while in this serene location.
- The entire trip to the lake can be covered on foot in a couple of hours, making it a great holiday spot for non-skiers.
- You can choose to take a bus there instead of walking the entire distance, or you can take a shorter stroll around the lake.
- Although it's a short walk, there is a fantastic little coffee and hot chocolate stop if you need to take a break.
Tobogganing
- A 4km toboggan line illuminated at night runs from the top of the Gampen lift to Nasserein.
- The most excellent part about this run is that it is free to use and includes a 500-meter descent.
- If you don't have a sledge, we doubt you'll need to hire one from one of the region's many sporting goods stores or the Nasserein.
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings are when the toboggan run is open, and if you enjoy going fast and don't mind running into people, we recommend making a night of it.
